Edgar Zorilla
Edgar Andres Zorrilla was born in Elmhurst Hospital, Queens, NY to Dominican immigrant parents who had high hopes of his becoming a lawyer or a doctor. However, growing up in the Queens Bridge Projects, he was exposed to Photoshop and other creative software at a young age by his brother, which sparked his passion for visual problem-solving. Despite not following the path his parents had envisioned for him, he has had a successful career in the creative industry and has worked for notable clients such as Bud Light, McDonalds, Ford, Jaguar, Johnnie Walker and more.
Throughout his professional journey, he has had the privilege of working with highly esteemed companies such as Wieden + Kennedy, FCB Global, Havas, Razorfish, and Publicis, among others. With his extensive experience in various roles and industries, he has become a seasoned visual problem solver and identifier. Edgar is a proud alumnus of The High School of Art & Design in New York City, where he studied Communication Arts with a focus on video, film photography, and advertising. Additionally, he pursued the Design & Management Program at Parsons,
The New School for Design, where he gained exposure to a wealth of design literature,
marketing, and advertising insights to later build on.
His internships with Euro RSCG 4D World Wide and Rockwell Group proved to be invaluable experiences that honed his skills in creative brainstorming, web development, design, and quality assurance. Ultimately, his first entry level position as a creative professional came when he was
hired as an Art Director at G2 Direct & Digital, which opened the door to various creative
pursuits.
His passion for visual problem-solving and diverse professional background has prepared him to take on new challenges with creativity and enthusiasm. Through his experiences with top-tier companies and clients, he has honed his skills as a visual communicator and has gained an appreciation for the power of effective storytelling. He is excited to continue pursuing his passion for the design and visual storytelling of the S.O.U.L. Foundation story, while also exploring new opportunities for growth as a creative professional.
